Working principle of GDWJ Non Partial Discharge AC Withstand Voltage Test System(eg:300KV 100KVA)


PD

The isolation power supply unit is applied to energize the HV test transformer and the PD tester. There is filer and isolation transformer inside the isolation power supply unit. That means the noise come from grid will be filtered and isolation by this power supply unit. The 300KV HV transformer will be used to apply high voltage to specimen. The HV transformer itself should be no PD because the final measured result of PD by the tester is the total value of whole system. The HV couple capacitor is applied to transfer PD signal from specimen to  impedance box for measurement by PD tester. The PD tester can measure the exact PD signal come from detection impedance box and locate the PD signal to the phase of synchronize AC voltage which is the same phase of HV sine wave.


Application


The GDWJ Non Partial Discharge AC Withstand Voltage Test System can be used for PD measurement of transformer, CT&VT, circuit breaker, bushes, arrester and so on. Only if the power supply does not exceed the maximum limitation then the device can be applied for the PD measurement. The tester reading for PD test is the exact PD value of the whole system. For different specimen which has different capacitor value. The proper impedance box should be used. The detail selection is listed in the manual. For the test system itself the operation for different specimen is the same. Just connect the system according to the reference diagram of figure 1. And then apply HV voltage according to the local standard requirement and then read the PD value from the tester display.


Environment requirement of PD Test System

The PD test system is very sensitive to the environment. The electromagnetic wave and switch power noise close to the system will affect the test performance. So for high accuracy PD test for example to determine whether the PD value less than 10 Pc. The shield room is suggested. That means the whole system should be inside a shield room (Means a room with metal wall and the metal already grounded). If the test conducted without a shield room the PD value will be a little high which depends on noise level.
