Resistive Voltage Divider
The internal resistance of the high-voltage resistance divider is pure resistance, with simple structure, convenient use, high accuracy and good stability, and is widely used. The resistive voltage divider is not suitable for measuring higher AC voltage, because it is related to the error, that is, the influence of the ground on the stray capacitance of the high-voltage side. After mathematical analysis, the error is related to ωRC. The R is larger, the ωRC and error will be larger, and the frequency is higher, the error will be larger also, so it is not suitable for AC high voltage measurement.
Capacitive Voltage Divider
The high-voltage capacitive voltage divider has higher withstand voltage than ordinary resistive voltage dividers and is not easy to break down. It is generally used to measure AC high voltage. However, because the response time value of its frequency response effect is larger than that of the resistive voltage divider, it is used less than the resistive voltage divider in the measurement of impulse voltage. For the measurement of ultra-high impulse voltage, the resistive-capacitive voltage divider is often used to measure the impulse voltage. The series resonance device will be used for high-voltage AC withstand voltage test, then the capacitive voltage divider will be used in the series resonance. After it resonates with the reactor, it will generate high voltage, which can carry out high-voltage AC withstand voltage test on high-voltage equipment.
The difference between capacitive voltage divider and resistive voltage divider is that capacitive voltage divider has strong anti-interference ability. Capacitive voltage divider is a capacitive equipotential shielding voltage divider type high voltage measurement device. Mainly used for pulse high voltage, lightning high voltage, power frequency high voltage measurement.
The disadvantage is that the capacitive voltage divider is easy to be damaged by bumps, it is not easy to transport, and the cost is higher than that of the resistive voltage divider.
